Yep, that's the reason. I can find RB25's over here for $300 sometimes, especially minus the turbo which I obviously don't need. People are always like "Damn, that's a stock bottom end? That shit's going to blow up soon!" Well, I haven't managed to pop one yet (knock on wood), but when I do, O well. I'm out a weekend, a couple cases of beer, and money for gaskets--which will actually cost more than the motor did. I've got two motors sitting around for spares already, and my buddy own a shop so......
If I could get 26's like that for cheap, I would. Their pistons and rods are stronger no doubt, and the head is a bit better, but like I said before, I still haven't managed to blow up a 25 (knocking furiously on wood at this point).
